The Center for Natural Law Studies and Normative Analysis has been established with a mission to encourage research on normative thinking in all its forms (moral, legal, political and socio-economic) and to promote certain types of legal, philosophical and social reflection increasingly absent in the Romanian and Western intellectual and academic life. The Center takes as a point of reference the paradigm of natural law (ius naturale) encouraging debates not only regarding the doctrines and approaches associated with this tradition, but also regarding the responses to and criticisms of it. The Center, an interdisciplinary initiative, aims to connect the Romanian academic and intellectual community to the international community of researchers in the fields of normative analysis, and to a bolster Romanian legal, social and philosophical thinking by organizing a forum for intellectual debate, encouraging research, publications and translations, as well as by supporting the old and new generations of researchers through a series of fellowships, scholarships and mentoring programs.
